Ship Faster with Zineps: 4 Features That Save You Time

Creating shipping labels shouldn't be the most time-consuming part of your day. Yet you probably know the feeling: typing in the weight again for every shipment, entering the dimensions of your standard box, and digging up that one HS code for international parcels. Small actions that add up to a lot of lost time.

That's why we've made Zineps smarter in four ways. You set your preferences once, and from then on Zineps does the work for you. In this article, we'll walk you through the features step by step.

1. Save your standard box sizes

Do you often ship the same kind of parcels? Then you no longer have to type in the dimensions every single time. With Zineps, you can now save your own box sizes under a recognizable name.

Go to Settings → Boxes and click Add. Give your box a clear reference, for example "Lamp box," choose the type (such as Parcel), and fill in the length, width, height and weight. Click the checkmark to save, and your format is ready to use.

From that moment on, when you create a new shipment you simply pick your saved box from the "Choose a format" list. The dimensions are filled in automatically. That saves you a handful of fields every time.

2. Set your default shipping method and default weight

Do you ship most of your parcels with the same carrier and shipping method? Then you can now set those as your default, so they're ready and waiting for every new shipment.

Go to Settings → Shipping options. Here you configure your default shipping preferences: the sender, the carrier (for example PostNL), the shipping method (for example PostNL Standard 0-23kg) and the box format. By linking one of your saved box formats here, you're effectively also setting a default weight and default dimensions.

Click Save and you're done. The result: when you open a new shipment, your carrier, shipping method, dimensions and weight are already filled in. All you need to add are the recipient's details.

3. Manage your standard HS codes for international shipments

Do you ship parcels abroad? Then you know how important HS codes are: these international product codes are needed to get your shipment smoothly through customs. Looking up the right code every time is a hassle, so we're taking that task off your hands.

Go to Settings → HS codes and click Add HS code. Give your product a recognizable name and link the matching HS code to it. You can save as many codes as you need, and edit or delete them later at any time.

With your standard HS codes ready to go, you'll create international shipping labels much faster, without having to look up which code belongs to which product every time.

4. Save a shipment as a draft and finish it later

Not every shipment can be completed in one go. Maybe you're still waiting on a customer's address, or you get interrupted halfway through. With the new draft feature, you'll never lose your work again.

When creating a new shipment, fill in what you already know and click Save as draft at the bottom. You'll see a confirmation that your draft shipment has been saved.

Want to continue later? Go to New shipment and open the Draft tab. There you'll find all your saved drafts, neatly listed with the recipient and the date you last edited them. Click Continue to reopen a draft and finish it, or use the trash icon to delete one you no longer need.

That way you pick up your work exactly where you left off, without re-entering a single piece of information.
